Peacock Creative Services works hard to stay abreast of the ever changing landscape of internet/digital marketing, search engine optimization and social media marketing. In these efforts we visit and read posts on the most respected blogs in the field on a daily basis. Of course, we apply the knowledge we glean from these sources, but now we are launching a new effort on this blog to share those resources with you.

Today I am sharing shiny nuggets of digital marketing insights and recommendations on Podcasts, Mobile Reach, and Emotional Advertising from around the web. Curated with care, just for you.

Grow Your Podcast Audience with SEO

Columnist’s Stephan Spencer’s article on Search Engine Land provides 6 actionable recommendations for expanding your podcast audience with SEO.  Regarding leveraging a podcast for link building he says:

Another way podcasting can benefit your overall search engine optimization efforts is through attracting links. If your podcast content is interesting, entertaining, compelling, useful and so on, it may well attract links all on its own, but there are certainly other links that you can pursue.

If a podcast is part of your digital marketing mix, I recommend you take the time to review and implement his recommendations.

Reaching The Mobile Customer

Interestingly enough, this podcast and blog post on Social Media Examiner is an excellent example of how to implement some of Mr. Spencer’s recommendations. The topic here, obviously is reaching your mobile customers and if you are a local business you should stop and take notice. In both the article and interview covers the importance of mobile, mobile offers and sms messages, social media, mobile targeting including geofencing, and local search. The podcast is about 45 minutes and well worth the time, but you can glean the top takeaways by reading the post in much less than 45 minutes.

The Importance of Emotional Advertising

Neil Patel’s article Without Emotional Advertising, Your Landing Page Won’t Work. Here’s How to Get It Right will walk you through why emotions are an important part of the purchase process, the science behind it, and how, armed with this knowledge, you can and should rethink the landing pages on your website. He also outlines the marketers job as:

When you get right down to it, your job is quite simple and breaks down into three basic steps:

  1. Understand the needs of your audience
  2. Understand what their psychological drive is compelling them to seek
  3. Influence their behavior to appeal to their needs

He goes on to provide insights on how to accomplish these tasks. Whether you are a marketer or a small business owner, I encourage you to take the time to review Mr. Patel’s insights.

Well, there you go, short and sweet some useful recommendations to help you reach a broader audience and convert that audience into customers. Feel free to contact us if you want to discuss any of these topics in greater details. Until next time my friends, be well!
